The cost of retaining a lawyer for a criminal matter starts at $7500, this retainer only covers pre-trial issues and court appearances. Once a case goes to trial the fees a lawyer can charge go up significantly.

In the current case there are six volunteers that are standing trial, and the trial fee per hour is $400, which means each hour in court costs $2400 for those six who are standing trial.

Up until now the volunteers paid the lawyers out of their own pockets, but now that the case is going to trial there is no way they can shoulder the financial burden alone, and are therefore asking for your help.

All funds contributed to this cause will only be used for Legal Defense matters, and not for the general Shomrim operations.
